home specialties services about me and my dogs

Dogs are always learning. Either we are giving them legal outlets and providing appropriate skills or they are continuing to engage in inappropriate habits hard to break. Consistency and Structure is a first step:

A. Prevent problems before they become habits- for housetraining, supervise them in home and use confinement, for jumping, control access to people while out on walks.

B. Limit and control access to their favorite things (closed economy)- attention, food, toys, going outside - provide them these rewards when the do appropriate behaviors.

C. Use their favorite things to get them to do what we want them to do - ask them to sit before jumping up, give them a treat for sitting, if they sit at the door, let them outside.

D. Take something they like away when we don't like what they do. For jumping, ignore or leave the room, for mouthing, give a time-out.
